Conference Venue
The 13th International Conference on Chemical Kinetics will be held at Granlibakken, a historic site near Lake Tahoe, California, in the United States. Granlibakken—from Norwegian “a hill sheltered by fir trees”— sits in a valley that hosted 60-meter ski jumping in a bid for the 1932 Winter Olympics. Surrounded by towering conifer trees, Gralibakken offers first-class lodging, meals, and conference facilities on a 74-acre (30 hectare) site easily navigated on foot. The secluded setting enables participants to discuss scientific results at length and encourages repeated interactions to build bridges and expand networks.
At 6,300 feet (1,920 m) above sea level, Granlibakken lies just northwest of Lake Tahoe, a spectacular freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The climate in June is comfortable, with daytime average high temperatures of 72 F (22 C), low humidity, sunny skies, and cool, crisp nights. Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America, is renowned for its clarity that often exceeds 70 feet (21 m) of visibility. Recreation opportunities abound in and around Lake Tahoe, with hiking, swimming, kayaking, rock climbing, golf, and much more nearby. We hope you’ll join us to contribute to the scientific richness of ICCK while enjoying the beautiful location of Granlibakken and Lake Tahoe.
